Investor Can't Access the Data Room
Possible causes and fixes:
- Link expired — check whether you set an expiration date on the share link; generate a new link if needed
- Wrong email domain — if you enabled domain restriction, confirm the investor is accessing from the allowed domain
- Password not shared — if the room is password-protected, confirm the investor received the correct password
- Link revoked — check your access controls to confirm the link is still active; re-share if it was accidentally revoked
- NDA not accepted — if NDA gating is enabled, the investor must complete the NDA step before content is visible; ask them to check for the acceptance prompt
Investor Says the AI Chat Isn't Answering Correctly
- The AI answers questions based on the documents uploaded to the room — if a document is missing or hasn't finished processing, the AI may not have the information
- Confirm all relevant documents are uploaded and organized in the room the investor is viewing
- Allow a moment for AI extraction to complete after a fresh upload before sharing the link
Watermark Not Appearing on PDFs
- Watermarking applies to PDF files viewed inside the Ciiimple viewer — it does not apply to non-PDF formats
- If an investor downloaded a file before you enabled watermarking, that copy will not carry the watermark; watermarks apply at the moment of each view going forward
- Confirm the document is a PDF and is being viewed through the Ciiimple room (not a previously downloaded copy)
Engagement Analytics Showing No Activity
- Confirm the investor received and opened the correct link
- Check whether the link has an expiration date that has already passed
- Verify the share link is active in your access control settings
- Analytics update in real time — if the link was just sent, activity will appear once the investor opens it
Documents Not Processing After Upload
- Large files may take a moment to process; wait briefly and refresh
- Confirm the file is a supported format (PDF recommended for full feature support)
- If a document remains unprocessed, try re-uploading or contact support
